Well I’m back. The holidays are over and it was either get moving again or find something to keep me occupied for the long term. After so long, I tend to go stir crazy, but for me it was back on the road. New York was my first stop. I had never been before, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I had seen New York in the movies, but is that the real New York? I took the red eye from Reno. Left at midnight and landed at 5am pacific, 8 am eastern. There was a screaming child on the plane, so I averaged about 20 minutues

of sleep every hour. In addition, I had a headache and a stomach ache. No fault of Jet Blue’s, but it was kind of an awful flight. I landed and took a cab to the city. I didn’t think I would be able to check in, but at least I could drop off my luggage. I had some plans for the day, so once I dropped off my bags, I was on my way to Wall Street. I walked over to Grand Central and made my way underground. I was confused because I had been told to take the 5, 6. There wasn’t a train called the 5,6. There was the 5 or the 6. And I couldn’t understand the destinations. A train arrived and I hopped on. I asked someone where they were going, and they said, “Uptown.” I thought hmmm, I think I want to go south so I hopped off. I figured out I needed to get to the subway that was going the other direction. It sounds like there was a bit of contruction going on, so the subway system was a little more messed up than usual. It all worked out in the end. I made it to my destination. Wall Street was great. I went to the 911 Memorial and it was fantastic. I walked down to Battery Park and took the ferry to The Statue of Liberty. I had a grand time. On Ellis Island, my exhaustion kicked in. It was almost 3pm Est, 1 pm PCT. I havd been up since 8am PCT the previous morning, minus the moments I snoozed on the plane. I was on a mission to get to my hotel. I changed my clothes and took a two hour nap. I probably could of slept through the night, but I only had one night in New York. I woke up and grabbed some dinner and then headed to Times Square. It was fantastic. The lights reminded me of Vegas, and I thought Vegas did a good job of recreating Tines Square for their casino. I walked around, got an awful whiskey and ginger and made my way back to my hotel. I had a vision of waking early to go for a run through central park, come back, shower, and then check out. My alarm went off. I hit the snooze until 10. I showered, and then ran through Central Park to the Natural Hstory Muesum. I absolutely adored the muesum. I started my way through the exhibts, and I was doing a good job until I became hungry. Then I looked out the window and saw it was snowing. I only had a fleece on because I ran here. So I cut out of the museum a bit early so I could run back. I needed to keep warm in the snow. I saw alot of the exhibits, but I know I could go back and visit some again, and I’m sure there are some I missed, Two days in New York is definielty not enough. I’ll have almost another two days in New York on my way home, and I don’t think that will be enough either. For a tiny island there is definietly a lot to see and so much to do. I am not sure if I’ll be able to make it to a broadway show, but if I remember I may try for tickets to the tonight show. Once I returned back to my hotel, I put some dry clothes on, grabbed some food and waited waiting for the shuttlee to come get me and take me to JFK. It was time to head to England.
