About Me

Hi there! My name is Keelie, I am a destination marketer currently living and working in northern Nevada. I have a passion for adventure, and I want to inspire and motivate my fellow weekend warriors that you too can live a life of adventure without giving up your job. I’ve been a working gal since I was 16-years old, but I was born with my sense of adventure. I enjoy exploring new cities, music, sports and just about anything outdoors.

After a 5-year stint in finance and sales, I decided to give that vagabond lifestyle a try and took a “gap year”. It was no doubt one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made, but after a year of traveling around the world, I was ready to get back to work. What can I say, I like money. I now work your typical 8-5, Monday – Friday office job. I do love my work, but I also love weekends and my coveted 2-weeks of PTO.

During my year abroad, I traveled to 5 different continents, 7 countries and 3 new states here in America. I started my blog to keep track of my adventures and ultimately discovered that I had a passion for marketing. Since returning to work, I have been to 1 new continent, 4 new counties and 2 new states. To keep my adventurous spirit alive, I take full advantage of weekends, holidays, business trips and the wonderful Reno Tahoe region I call home.

I grew up in a small town in northern California and moved to Reno to attend the local University. I always had my heart set on going to college somewhere near the beach in southern California, but after spending a summer in the Sierra Nevada’s, I decided there was no way I was trading in my hiking boots for a pair of flip flops. I feel very fortunate to live in the Reno Tahoe region because exploring “home” means spending my weekends’ hiking, biking, skiing or camping. And when I want to get away, there are some awesome destinations just an hour flight away – little to no vacation time required.

Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy those select weekends where I sit on the couch and binge watch my favorite shows, but off the couch, that’s where my favorite memories are made. The best part about adventure is it doesn’t matter where you go, but what you make of it. Some of my greatest adventures have been within an hours drive of home or even better, didn’t require a car at all.

I hope you decide to follow along on my adventures and get some great inspiration to start one of your own. Let’s hear it for the weekend warriors!
